A healthy and free connection between body, mind, and soul is very important to me, as well as empathic communication and a perspective on life and being in the world based on wholeness. I offer 45-minute and 90 minute sessions.
A healthy and free connection between body, mind, and soul is very important to me, as well as empathic communication and a perspective on life and being in the world based on wholeness. I offer sessions with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), en psychotherapeutic form of treatment which can reduce discomfort related to uncomfortable or traumatic past experiences.
EMDR integrates elements from several forms of treatment such as cognitive therapy relaxation exercises. A central part of EMDR therapy is the use of various forms of bilateral stimulation, e.g. eye movements, alternating sounds or tactile stimulation. According to the theory, the different forms of bilateral stimulation involve right and left hemispheres of the brain, and that the alternate stimulation and double focus of attention, i.e. both on the trauma and on the stimulation, increases the rate of information processing in the brain.
A session with EMDR is 90 minutes. NB! I am a student in training in EMDR.
I offer therapy / coaching to couples who are looking for better ways of communicating with each other, who are experiencing challenges in their relationships - for example conflict, psychological pain, ambivalence, distance, infidelity, lack of trust etc - and who would like to find their way back to that which was good in their relationship or to develop a deeper relationship with each other. A couples therapy session is 90 minutes.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) has its origin in osteopathy. It is a deeply relaxing and mild treatment where contact with the body, tensions, emotions, and energy blockages is made through gentle touch. Treatments can lead to deep tension release, which can allow for improved flow in communication between the head (cranium), the lower back and pelvis (sacrum), and the tailbone (coccyx). Improved flow influences the entire body: the central nervous system, tissues, sinews, bone structures, meridians, and organs. CST can be used to mitigate psychological and emotional distress, stress, tension, pain, and symptoms in connection with traumatic experiences. CST also supports the processing of traumatic experiences, personal development, and grounding as well as integration of these processes and new learning. Since I am a student, at present, the treatments I offer will be limited to grounding and distension/relaxation. A CST treatment is 45 minutes.
Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an auditory intervention designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience. Based on Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory, by calming the physiological and emotional state, the door is opened for improved communication and more successful therapy.
This non-invasive intervention involves listening to music that has been processed specifically to retune the nervous system (regulating state) to introduce a sense of safety and the ability to socially engage. This allows you to better interpret not only human speech, but, importantly, the emotional meaning of language. Once interpersonal interactions improve, spontaneous social behaviors and an enhanced ability to learn, self-regulate, and engage are often seen.
The SSP is a research-based therapy showing significant results in the following areas:
I have a 3-year education and authorization as a singing teacher/vocal and performance coach from Complete Vocal Institute in Denmark, a Master's degree in Music Therapy from the Norwegian Academy of Music with voice as the main instrument, and a 4-year specialisation in Expressive Arts Psychotherapy from the University of Southeast Norway and the Norwegian Institute of Expressive Arts and Communication. In addition, I have many years' experience with the Alexander Technique and the Alfred Wolfsohn/Roy Hart Method. The lessons I give are playfulness- and curiosity-based and focus on various themes such as vocal agility, interpretation, performance, contact with the audience, and performance anxiety / stage fright, as needed. A vocal session is 45 minutes.
